Amauri: «I am sorry I’ll have to miss Chievo»

Amauri: «I am sorry I’ll have to miss Chievo»

Amauri is about to return. This time it is not the slogan of the Costa Crociere commercial in which he was a protagonist. The Brazilian is recovering from the injury suffered during training a few days after the return match against Chelsea and will soon be at the disposal of Claudio Ranieri.

If optimism and a will to do well are fundamental elements for recovery, Amauri sure has the right cards. The moment of his return on the field is drawing near even though there are still a few stages to go through. After the tests he underwent in the last few days and which confirmed great improvements, the striker will be examined again at the beginning of next week and in case of positive results will be able to start training again regularly.

In the meantime, Amauri mad the point of the situation speaking exclusively to the supporters on JuventusMember, in an interview given yesterday (Thursday 2nd April). The Brazilian is not present in Vinovo due to a slight fever: «If everything goes well, I hope to be back next week and get back to working with my friends and soon also on the field. My objective is to be back for the match against Inter but the injury was not a simple one and therefore I must take all the necessary precautions. The most important thing is to recover well. I want to help the team and try to end the championship in the same way that I started».

The break for international matches allowed Amauri to recover more tranquilly. For now he has only missed the matches against Bologna and Roma and on Sunday will add Chievo to the list, a match which he would have really liked to play as he can never forget his experience with the gialloblu: «With Verona I returned to the Serie A after the brief period with Piacenza and they always believed in me. After three very positive seasons I was transferred to Palermo and then I got here. Therefore Chievo gave me a great boost to reach Juventus».

At the time, it was a Chievo which continued to impress and year after year increased his experience in the football that counts. This is the same thing that the present Chievo would like to do after having returned immediately to the Serie A and will do anything to stay there. As a spectator Amauri is ready to support his team mates, knowing the importance the match has: «Chievo suffered in the beginning but in the last few match days has shown to be in great condition and is doing really well. We however, must continue with our championship and we want to continue in the race for the scudetto, seeing that everything is still possible».
