Chiellini: «We cannot afford a mistake against Chievo»
The countdown to the continuation of the championship has officially begun. Claudio Ranieri welcomed back all the internationals and can now concentrate on Sunday’s match against Chievo.
Amongst the bianconeri who came back stronger from the international matches is Giorgio Chiellini. Against Montenegro and Eire the defender showed great generosity and substance. He never held back notwithstanding the protective mask which he has now been wearing for about two weeks: «That doesn’t bother me. I got used to it. I will have to use it for another three weeks but it isn’t a problem».
Chiellini returned fully charged, notwithstanding the draw in the last few minutes against Trappatoni’s team and he is already concentrated on the end of the season which awaits the bianconeri. The match against the veronesi is the beginning of a decisive cycle: «It’s a pity the way yesterday’s match ended but we showed great character to overcome the fact that we were one man less. This break was very useful in order to recover our strength and also the injured players. Before the direct encounter with Inter, two difficult matches await us, against Chievo and Genoa and we must try to win both. On Sunday we know we can’t afford to make mistakes against a team which has lately been going through a good patch and which will try to create difficulties for us».
