Amauri: «We hunger for victory»

A snippet against Reggina, ninety minutes and a pass against Lecce: Amauri is back and he wants to get back to being a protagonist in order to help Juventus end the season well.

A training injury forced him to stop during the worst time possible, forcing him to watch the team during its worst period from outside the field – a period which everybody would like to end immediately and that is on Sunday during the away match against Milan.

In the first round the match against the rossoneri was one of the absolute best of the bianconeri this season but also of Amauri who scored twice. The Brazilian spoke of the current situation on Filo Diretto the weekly programme on Juventus Channel. «The match against Milan is beautiful and important and is followed all over the world. They will be playing the match in a much better period for them then for us but we have all it takes to do well and overcome this phase. We must try to repeat all the good we did in the first round with the same hunger and will to win».

Hunger and will to win must accompany the team for the whole month of May. There are four matches to see the real Juve, that team which did so well during the rest of the year. «We were doing greatly up to a month and a half ago. Now we must be clever enough to bend fortune towards us since lately we were short of luck. We missed out on 2 victories conceding a goal in the 93rd minute and therefore we will have to remain concentrated up to the 95th and try to reach the objective that remains, that is of qualifying directly to the next Champions League».

There are four matches left till the end of the first season of Amauri with Juventus. The injury suffered in March is the only hitch for a player who found in Turin the quality he was looking for: «When I came here, I set myself two goals. I wanted to show that I could do well in a great team and I wanted to win something important. I felt well here and started off really strongly and I think I showed everyone that I have the right qualities. With regards to the victories I will wait for next year. I have such a great desire of raising a cup to the sky wearing this jersey».
