Ranieri: Poulsen Is Juve’s Ambrosini

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus should know within the next 48 hours if they will be signing Sevilla’s Christian Poulsen, a player that Claudio Ranieri has compared to Milan’s Massimo Ambrosini.

Poulsen’s name has been extremely prominent in the Italian media this week, and there have been constant reports that Juventus are very close to snapping up the Danish international.

The Gazzetta claims that Juve sporting director Alessio Secco yesterday had a top secret meeting with Poulsen, where the player agreed to drop his wage demands from 3.8 to 3 million Euros a year.

The Bianconeri have also persuaded Sevilla to sell the 28-year-old for 8 million Euros, rather than his 10 million minimum release fee clause. A yes or no answer of whether the player will be joining is expected to be known within the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Ranieri is said to be very excited about the prospect of signing Poulsen, and has even compared him to Milan midfield battler Massimo Ambrosini, a player who has had his fair share of critics.
