Ranieri: «Chievo will make our life difficult»

Juventus-Inter is on schedule for the 18th of April and everybody seems to be talking of this match. The media and the supporters are counting the days that remain until the match at the Olimpico. However, before the direct encounter, many other things must happen. There isn’t only Easter in between but most of all two more championship matches, that is six points at the disposal of the two rivals. This is a tally which, considering the points margin, is fundamental.

For this reason, Claudio Ranieri answered in the following way to those who asked about the match against the nerazzurri: «It would be wrong to the think of the match against Inter from now. From here till the end of the championship there are still 9 matches to go and we must do well in all, not only in the direct encounter. For this reason, what interests me now is tomorrow’s match against Chievo».

In the first round it was the 34th birthday of Alessandro Del Piero and Juventus beat the veronesi at the Bentegodi thanks to a great goal by the “birthday boy” and a goal by Iaquinta , winning three golden points during a winning streak. This time Juventus are going through another winning streak with five consecutive victories (all on Saturday) and 19 points in the last 7 matches which gave the team the sensation of being able to continue with the title race. However, for this to be achieved the winning string must pursue: «Some times there are long sequences – confirmed the coach – and to achieve them one must think of a match at a time. We know we have a difficult task to accomplish but difficult tasks give one even greater satisfaction if achieved. In order for this to happen there is need of a number of favourable situations but we must first of all think of our road».

It is Chievo who is the first to appear on Juve’s road. The veronesi have shown the spirit of a top team in the last few match days and wants to pursue it’s race to avoid relegation. It is for this reason that Ranieri does not want to trust them. «We will be playing against a team in great form which is playing well and which in the first round made things hard for us and this time they will make our life difficult. Before the break, Chievo was going through a good period and during this time Di Carlo had the possibility of working with the complete squad. However, the quality is different and I hope that this quality may emerge again».
