Juventus Chase Manninger
Juventus are close to signing Alex Manninger from Red Bull Salzburg according to Tuttosport.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper has been a target for the Old Lady since his Arsenal days. Juve did, indeed, try to sign him back then but the Gunners turned down their offers.
However, the Austrian shot-stopper may find himself moving to Turin after all, as the Bianconeri are currently looking for an experienced custodian to deputise for Gian Liuigi Buffon.
Tuttosport claims that the Olimpico-based outfit are currently in talks with Manninger’s representatives and that he will arrive for around €1m.
It is believed he will sign a four year deal with the Serie A giants and he is likely to join the club within the next few days if the deal runs smoothly.
Manninger was at Siena last season and he was outstanding for the Tuscan side in between the sticks.
La Vecchia Signora will need a decent ‘Keeper as cover given their Scudetto and Champions League ambitions next term.
