Ranieri rages at 'spoilt' Trez
Friday 13 March, 2009
Claudio Ranieri has labelled David Trezeguet “a spoilt child” for his protests at being substituted against Chelsea.
Trezeguet was angry at being taken off during Juventus' Champions League last 16 second leg.
He publically questioned that decision from his Coach and has earned the scorn of his tactician.
“I feel betrayed by Trezeguet's words,” Ranieri growled on Sky Sport Italia.
“What he said annoyed me a lot and he seems like a spoilt child. He has let me down as a man, rather than a player.
“I haven't spoken to David about this. If he talks to me via the media then I will respond to him in the same way.
“I gave Trezeguet 100 per cent faith and as a Coach you cannot do more than that.
“We have always kept this kind of thing within the dressing room, but that seems to have changed now.
“He has made a big mistake, full stop. I don't know what will happen now.”
Ranieri hasn't selected Trezeguet for his squad to face Bologna, officially due to muscle fatigue.
“Bologna are doing well,” Ranieri said, turning to the match at hand.
“Marco Di Vaio is a great guy and he is on form delivering regular goals.
“The Rossoblu are a good counterattacking team and it will be hard for us. They are decent away from home and we expect a tough encounter.
“We have turned a new leaf after our European exit and we want to look forward.”
