Ranieri: «We want to go through»
Claudio Ranieri can be pleased with the way the match at the San Siro went. He'd wanted at least one goal, and his lads got two and even if “his” Juventus weren't able to take full advantage of playing with one man more, they were able to get an important draw in view of the return leg.
The Manager commented the game as follows: «Today I was interested in the result and getting at least one goal. It was a strange match, we found ourselves with one man more, they stayed back and we tried to play wide without succeeding. To their credit Inter Milan came forward in the second half whereas we were not very responsive. Fortunately character is never lacking in this team and we scored twice. It's important to score away from home. The return match will be exciting, but we want to go through».
Legrottaglie: «We have a lot of character»
When he meets Juventus, Cruz becomes infallible. A goal back in November in the League, two tonight in the Italian Cup and many scored in the past also. It was up to Legrottaglie to try and contain this difficult client at the Meazza tonight. The defender played well, as usual, yet the Argentinean forward scored again. After the match, Nicola could only praise his rival. But he was not the only one he praised.
«Congratulations to him – he commented -, but also to all of us, we didn't give in and we were rewarded at the end thanks to our great character. Unfortunately if they don't smack us out of complacency we don't give our best and today we found ourselves two goals down without Inter Milan ever having a shot at goal. It's a shame because playing with one man more we could have ensured qualification tonight, as we’d dominated in the first half».
