Arsenal To Swoop For Palladino?
Premiership league-leaders Arsenal could make a move for Juventus starlet Raffaele Palladino, according to Tuttosport.
The 23-year-old forward is one of Italy’s most promising young talents and made his debut for the national side during the Euro 2008 victory over the Faroe Islands in November.
However despite his burgeoning talent, Palladino has found it difficult to nail down a regular fist team place for Juventus, given the red-hot competition from the likes of David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero and Vincenzo Iaquinta.
He has started just seven games in Serie A this term and has been mostly utilised in a less familiar role on the right or left side of midfield.
Palladino is said to be concerned about his shortage of action, and there have been reports that Juventus were considering using him as bait in a deal to bring Palermo star Amauri to the club.
Arsenal could be set to take advantage of the situation by launching a bid of their own. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of Palladino and believes his technical ability, pace and trickery fits in perfectly with the club’s unique style of play.
