Legrottaglie’s European optimism
Nicola Legrottaglie is ready to start an exciting new season. After being one of the best defenders in the League last season, Nick’s intention is to keep playing at that standard, despite the press often not considering him part of the possible first team line-up of late: «I'm happy to stay at Juve and be part of this group. Many people called me this summer telling me: they've taken you out of the team. Well, if whoever joins the Club is stronger than me, no problem. I'd be secure in the knowledge of what I can do and I know it'll be harder this year, both for me and for the team. I also know that no-one is sure of a place on the team and I'm an example of this: last year I wasn't supposed to play and then I did, I played almost every game. I'd be very happy if this situation repeated itself. Plus this year we have the Champions League and I want to taste success in that too. I'm convinced we'll do particularly well in Europe. I can't explain why, but I have this feeling. We'll just need to have the same thirst for victory as last year and remain humble at all times».
