Ferrara: «It was emotional like always»
Ciro Ferrara has experienced the exhibition match at Villar Perosa wearing different roles but one factor he holds is common in all the times he has been to the Agnelli home: «It was emotional like always. I was here as a player, as the person responsible for the youth sector and now as coach. It is an important tradition which we want to keep alive for many years in the future».
Notwithstanding the fact that Juventus A vs Juventus B was an exhibition match in honour of tradition, the Juventus coach is determined to win every single encounter. This is reflected in his comments at the end of the game. «We did not start well and in fact conceded a goal. We committed a few mistakes which are understandable at this time of the year. In the second half we played better and controlled the match. We must work to make sure that we are ready. I would like to compliment Pessotto, Castagnini and Bruni for the great work they are doing».
One of the players followed closely by the supporters present in an attempt to obtain an autograph was Diego, who is currently on the road to recovery: «I hope we will soon Diego on the field. He is recovering from a problem he encountered during the training camp and hopefully he will soon be able to join the team».
Twelve days more and the curtain goes up on the Serie A: «We want to start the championship. In the meantime we will play a few very exciting friendlies. At this point in time we are playing very much and this is what we wanted but we hope to be close to the ideal condition by the beginning of the Serie A».
Finally a comment about John Elkann’s words of praise: « I am happy and grateful after Elkann’s comments because it is an ulterior stimulus and a show of faith in me from a person who I hold to be very important».
