Sissoko injury drags on

Momo Sissoko has had to delay his return to training after the Juventus midfielder’s foot injury flared up again.
The Mali international underwent surgery for a fracture in his left foot on March 10 and was expected back in full training with his teammates this week.
“I want to play football, but my foot still hurts,” he told journalists.
Tests were performed that found some complications to worry the Juventus medical staff.
“The fracture is perfectly healed, but there is bruising around the fifth metatarsal,” explained doctor Bartolomeo Goitre.
“Basically there is an inflammation between the bones that requires new analysis and consultation.
“Right now we cannot give a prognosis. The only thing we can rule out is further surgery, because the fracture has gone and the screws are solidly in place.”
Sissoko has been out of action for five months and it is highly unlikely he will be ready to play before mid-September.
