Trezeguet and Amauri protagonists in the family feud

It is a sign of times that are changing. Since a few years back, the Primavera boys are not happy with being simply walk-ons at Villar Perosa. A year ago it was Christian Pasquato who won himself the title of top scorer. This time, the cover is dedicated to Luca Marrone, author of two assists and to Andrea De Paolo scorer of the 3-1.

Even the other youngsters who served as back-up to the first team and those who remained at the disposal of Luciano Bruni (amongst them many from Schincaglia’s Berretti) held their heads up high, even scoring the opener thanks to Simone Esposito.

On a day when no less then 12 players had to do without the exhibition match at Villar Perosa due to the international friendlies, Ferrara could still field a forward line worthy of the Champions League: Del Piero, Amauri and Trezeguet. The captain tried to score quite a few times, especially from set pieces but was not lucky. Things turned out better for the Frenchman and the Brazilian who scored the first two goals of the day.

“Trezeguet unico Re” (Trezeguet the only king) was written on one of the banners exhibited. Applauses and chants in favour of David were sung at the end of the match who thanked the public by saying: «For me it was a very important choice. With this season I become the foreigner to have played for Juventus for the longest period of time. I thank the people and my mates who were always by my side. Now I am well, I trained with dedication and I want to win myself some satisfaction through an important victory with this team which has been strengthened by new signings». He concluded with a comment about the match: «It was a good training session. Now we can’t wait for the championship to start».

or Amauri it was the second time at Val Chisone, wher he found great enthusiasm amongst the public: «We hope to give them great satisfaction. We are working well and therefore there is what it takes. It will be a sought championship. We will have to be very concentrated but it will not be simply a race between Juve and Inter». Amauri expects great things from this season: «Last year I showed I was worthy of Juve. It’s a pity about the injury which kept me off the field for nearly two months, when I was doing well. Unfortunately for a player of my physical stature it is hard to recover quickly. Now I am well and therefore I hope to do even better».

Sebastian Giovinco could not take part in the match. While his family was well represented by his brother Giuseppe, SuperSeba was forced to a halt (together with highly acclaimed Diego, De Ceglie and Zebina) due to an injury which will keep him off the field for three weeks and the start of the championship: «It does not come at a good time. I tried forcing myself a bit too much and got myself this problem. The match at Villar? In the past I played this match quite a few times with the Primavera and now I am part of the senior squad. It means that times passes for us too. I wish all the youngsters on the field today to soon make their leap».
