Ranieri: There's Room For Amauri

Ranieri: There's Room For Amauri

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has rejected theories that prospective signing Amauri is not really needed given the Bianconeri’s array of forwards.

Juve are the highest scorers in Serie A this season, with David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero hitting 37 league goals between them so far, and Vincenzo Iaquinta also chipping in with eight off the bench.

Despite this, it is almost certain that Brazilian forward Amauri will be joining from Palermo in the summer, and some people have questioned where he is going to fit in.

"What do we lack? Experience,” said Ranieri.

“We need to construct a squad that is competitive on several fronts. We need 25 players in addition to the goalkeepers. We need two players for each position.

"Inter have many attackers.

“There will be room for everyone, and there will be more competition.

“Our players out on loan [such as Sebastian Giovinco, Claudio Marchisio and Paolo De Ceglie]? Their levels are excellent and I intend to include them next year too. I want a mix of youngsters and champions."

Earlier this week Ranieri admitted just how surprised he had been by Del Piero’s form this season, but there is another player who has surprised him even more.

"I would say Zanetti, he has surprised me a lot. He has shown great quality,” the Tinkerman concluded.
