Let's Not Stop Now - Ranieri
Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri talked about the importance of keeping up the good work in this last part of the season.
After yesterday's easy 3-0 win over Parma - a match postponed from 30 March due to the tragic and accidental death of a fan that morning - Juventus are very close to mathematically sealing their place in the Champions League for next season. However, coach Claudio Ranieri wants to keep his players focused ahead of these last five matches of the season.
"We must not give up now, if we did that we would not be a great team," the Roman coach said. If Juve win at Atalanta next weekend, they would mathematically guarantee at least the fourth place, but they could still potentially finish second, although that will also depend on results on other pitches.
Finishing second would even allow Juve to qualify directly to the Champions League and avoid the preliminary rounds, which is obviously a very strong motivation. The enthusiasm among the players is also very strong, with captain Alessandro Del Piero looking in especially scintillating form.
"It couldn't have gone better," he said on the victory against Parma, which allowed them to come within a whisker of their objective, which has always been to qualify for next season's Champions League following their promotion from Serie B.
