Blanc: «A win for our fans»
One year ago around this time, Juventus were getting their first away win after returning to Serie A at Cagliari, an eventful 3-2 win with many risks.
This time it was a less spectacular 1-0 win, but no less important. At the end, only the Bianconeri fans at the Sant’Elia were able to celebrate.
Before leaving Cagliari, Managing Director Jean-Claude Blanc dedicated the win to those fans. «It was the right thing to do going underneath their stands, to show how close we are to our fans: they’re always the focus of all we do. There was great group spirit today, both among the players and among our people. This was an important win because it's never easy to play after the Champions League and I'm happy about the performances of lads such as Manninger and Tiago. They show that the team worked well during the week and they were fully ready to play today when called upon».
