Juve prolong Camo contract
Friday 19 September, 2008
Juventus have extended the contract of Azzurri winger Mauro Camoranesi until 2011 after Wednesday's Champions League success.
Camo has been a key figure for the Bianconeri since he arrived from Hellas Verona in 2002.
And the Argentine-born ace has been rewarded for his contribution to Juve's recent success with a new deal.
“We wanted to show Camoranesi's value to Juventus,” a club statement from directors Jean-Claude Blanc and Alessio Secco reads.
“Mauro continues to demonstrate his abilities in Italy and Europe and we are proud that he will wear the Juve shirt in the future.”
Camoranesi was also delighted with the show of faith by the Old Lady.
“It is an important day,” he said. “I arrived in Turin in the summer of 2002 and it's an honour to be able to wear this shirt for nine seasons.
“It's not easy to play at the highest level for so long but I'm sure that I have lots more satisfaction to gain here.”
