Juventus’ Trezeguet Demands Starting Place Against Sampdoria
The Frenchman is back, and he wants to return in style, with some strong early performances.
Juventus’ most prolific foreign striker of all time, David Trezeguet, has been missing for the large part of the season, as a result of a knee injury he suffered in the first match day of the UEFA Champions League.
On that night, the Bianconeri marked their return to Europe’s premier competition with an impressive 1-0 victory, something that Trezeguet is hoping to do at an individual level, as he makes his return to the Italian Serie A this weekend.
In a recent interview, the Frenchman sent a clear message to the coach Claudio Ranieri, in regards to his plans for this weekend’s league fixture against Sampdoria.
“I want to come back and make my mark in style,” Trezeguet declare in an interview as reported by Ansa.it.
“Ranieri will have to leave either myself, Amauri or [Alessandro] Del Piero out, however I am feeling good, and I want this opportunity.
“I have been working a lot over the past few days, and so I am glad to be available for selection,” he added.
“I am ready to do my best, and so I think I will contribute from the start this weekend,” he concluded.
Juventus and Sampdoria do battle in the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, with the play set to get underway at 15:00 CET on Sunday.
