Palermo’s Balzaretti Promises Tough Challenge For Juventus
The former Juve man is looking forward to doing battle with his former club once again this weekend.
Earlier in the season, Palermo stunned Juventus away at the Stadio Olimpico, as they ran away with a well deserved 2-1 victory, with Levan Mchedlidze grabbing the winner in the final 10 minutes of play.
This time around however, things won’t be as straightforward for the Sicilians, as they will come up against a side that will desperate to win at all costs, in order to attempt to reduce Inter’s gap atop of the table.
The former Juventus man, Federico Balzaretti, is certainly looking forward to the challenge, something that he made clear in a recent interview with Palermo Sportitalia.
“I recall my pleasure over time with Juventus, and the relationship and respect I had with all my friends,” Balzaretti declared.
“We were a wonderful group.
“This weekend I am the opposition though, so I will be doing all I can to ensure a Rosanero victory.
“I am convinced that it will be a good match, because the atmosphere at the Renzo Barbera stadium is always wonderful,” he added.
“Juventus certainly do have a chance of winning the Scudetto, however we will not be doing them any favours, and we will be very tough for them.
“At this stage, they must play one game at a time and hope that the Inter lose along the way,” the defender concluded.
Palermo and Juventus square off this Saturday evening, with the play set to get underway at 20:30 CET.
