Marchisio: «Juve of character»
I’m sorry I could not answer to the Under 21 call-up and having missed the two matches against Napoli and Catania. The will to play and help the team is always strong just like that of playing for the national team where there is a fantastic group with whom we are preparing for the European Cup». Claudio Marchisio can’t help feeling sad about the muscle strain which forced him to stop lately. The midfielder however, is recovering: «I feel better now, thanks to the work done by the medical staff, the physiotherapists and the coaches. A new week is beginning and I am ready to be back with the team. We’ll wait and sea how my leg responds to the field».
Claudio followed attentively all that his team-mates did and the impression he got from watching Juventus from the outside was that of a team on it’s way back: «I saw a great will to return to victory. Against Napoli, in the Coppa Italia, much energy was spent during the 120 minutes but the victory after the penalty shoot-out gave the team faith. The one against Catania was a great match: after Vincenzo’s sending-off, playing with 10 players for 80 minutes could have led to a drop in energy. Besides everybody knows that Catania at home always give the maximum also thanks to the supporters, but we brought out our character and at the end we were rewarded for this».
Calusio’s conditions will be verified during the week but the hope is that of seeing him back on the field on Sunday against Sampdoria: «It is a team to take into great consideration – underlined the midfielder – seeing that they have overcome the bad patch. They can also count on Antonio Cassano’s talent and are competing for a place in the UEFA Cup. We, however, are ready to get back to victory even at home».
