The last obstacle before the return to Europe has been overcome. It was hard, as one expected, but the victory came in the best of manners. The victory against Palermo was the right charge in view of the match away to Chelsea on Wednesday.

Ranieri had this to say: «Today the match was really intense in the first half while during the second we could have controlled better especially when it comes to ball possession. I did not want to substitute David because he was always sharp and was cleverly scheming Liverani every time they had the ball. I am satisfied with the defence. Now we will think of Chelsea who today showed that they are a great team which can count on attackers like Anelka and Drogba and midfielders of the likes of Lampard and Ballack who are capable of running forward. We know that we will be laying against the team who lost the last Champions League over a missed penalty but we will go there and we will play with our determination».
