Gigli: We Can Finish Second
Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli insists that his side will fight on to finish second in the league, which grants automatic qualification to the Champions League next season.
The Bianconeri are currently seven points behind second place Roma but Claudio Ranieri’s men have a game in hand following the postponement of Juventus-Parma at the weekend after a fan was killed.
Despite Roma’s advantage in the league, Gigli is still confident that his side can finish as runners up in Serie A this season.
“We can still hope to become vice-champions of Italy and we will believe and fight until the very end,” said the chief.
“Roma could complicate our objectives for second place if they get knocked out of the Champions League so I’ll be supporting them when they play Manchester United, I hope they can overturn the result.
“But even if they don’t succeed we will still be working towards our objectives and we have all the right cards in order to do it.”
Juve will be hoping the Champions League provides a distraction for Roma from their Serie A efforts, as any slip ups will see the Bianconeri take full advantage.
