Juventus have to negotiate Palermo this Sunday, but David Trezeguet is looking ahead to April 12’s showdown with Milan.

The Old Lady continue to exceed expectations and are still harbouring a Scudetto dream with seven games remaining.

This weekend sees Claudio Ranieri’s men travel to Sicily to take on a struggling Palermo outfit, but the Bianconeri are already anticipating the chance to deal old rivals Milan a fatal blow in their bid for Champions League qualification.

“It’s a game that holds a special fascination because Juve and Milan are two of the sides who play the best football in the world,” Trez enthused on Sky Sport Italia.

“The Rossoneri may be going through a delicate time, but they are still strong and opponents to be feared. But this test will help us see how far this Old Lady side has come.”

While Milan have disappointed this term, young gun Alexandre Pato is a fearsome opponent.

“He can quickly become one of the best players around,” Trez stressed.

“He is very determined and has the ability to show a great calmness. Most importantly, he is extraordinary on a technical level.”

The French international has often been linked with Milan, especially at the end of last season when he fell out with the Juve directors.

“There have been times when people have discussed a swap with Alberto Gilardino,” he said. “But I am very happy at Juve and I’m hoping to stay here for a long time.”
