Amauri Hoping To Feature In Italy-Brazil Friendly
Juventus star Amauri thinks there is a chance he will be able to play for Italy in the friendly against Brazil in February.
Today Juventus striker Amauri, who was decisive in the 4-2 victory against Milan on Sunday with two goals, gave an interview to the Sky program dedicated to Juve, called "Permette Signora" (meaning "Allow Me, Miss", referring to the club's nickname "Vecchia Signora").
Asked if he was satisfied with his achievements so far, he said: "I'm just at the start, but until now I'm happy with what I've done. I needed a lot of work and sacrifice to get where I am now. I am proud to know that all Italian fans support me, hoping that I will wear the national team shirt. That is an immense honor for me."
In February there will be a friendly between Italy and his birth nation Brazil, and Amauri thinks there is a possibility he will be wearing the Azzurri's shirt in this match.
"You never know, destiny can bring you wonderful things, things you don't expect," he said. "There is a possibility, we'll see. 2008 is about to end now, I would prefer to talk about this again in 2009."
Asked what he would choose as a Christmas gift between the Scudetto, the Champions League, or an Italian passport, he said: "I want everything. In particular, though, I would like to win something important with Juventus' shirt."
