Genoa push for Palla

Genoa are stepping up their efforts to lure unsettled Juventus striker Raffaele Palladino, but he looks likely to stay in Turin.

Last week it seemed that Palladino was on the road to Marassi after successful negotiations between the two clubs.

The transfer seemed to suit the former Livorno man, who expressed his frustration last season after a lack of first-team opportunities with the Old Lady cost him a place at Euro 2008.

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi even declared that the deal was done, but the move stalled when the talented forward had second thoughts.

It now seems that Palla is unwilling to take a pay cut to join Genoa and may opt to stay with the Bianconeri and fight for a place.

Grifone directors met with Palladino’s agent Beppe Bozzo yesterday in the hope of coming to an agreement and Coach Gian Piero Gasperini insists that he is positive, but sources suggest that the Neapolitan hitman is leaning towards staying put.
