Borriello to miss Juve
Friday 7 March, 2008
Genoa striker Marco Borriello could be ruled out of Sunday’s game against Juventus due to a knee injury.
The Neapolitan striker has been outstanding this season, netting 16 goals in 23 games so far, and it would be unfortunate if the Rossoblu had to miss out on a top-scorers head to head clash against David Trezeguet.
“Borriello is currently not available,” claimed Grifoni boss Gian Piero Gasperini. “We will see what happens in the next few hours. However, Luciano Figueroa is ready to replace him.”
The 25-year-old player hasn’t been training with his teammates recently, although the Liguri medical staff is still hoping he can recover for the next fixture.
The Rossoblu injury list is incredibly long at the moment with Cesare Bovo, Rubinho, Matteo Paro and Santos all out already. Alessandro Sculli and Fabiano are also not 100% fit but should still make it against the Bianconeri.
Genoa currently lie in 8th place and will be hoping to impress their fans by stopping the Old Lady at Marassi this weekend.
