John Elkann: «We're dead set on the Champions League»
«As a fan, I'm very happy that Buffon is staying one more year with us. He's the greatest goalkeeper in the world and having him at Juve is a huge honour».
John Elkann, who turned up in Vinovo this morning to meet the team and watch the daily training session, expressed his satisfaction about Gianluigi Buffon's contract extension in an interview with Juventus Channel: an important signal given by the Club owners, at a crucial juncture in the season. «We're doing well, we're in a good position in the League – FIAT's vice-president continued – It was important to get a win again, as we did in the last match, against Genoa. The team have always put up a fight, egged on by Ranieri, who has created a strong group spirit, and by all the players: those that have been with us longer as well as the new ones. Sissoko has also settled in well and has already given us a great hand». The only thing that remains to be done now is to keep fighting until the end, to achieve qualification for the Champions League, something John Elkann strongly wants too: «The team have a winning spirit and so all the remaining eleven matches will be prepared and played to be won. We really want to get back in Europe and everybody's main objective, the fans' and the team's, is the Champions League»
