Nedved discusses injury scare
Monday 7 April, 2008
Juventus winger Pavel Nedved has been discharged from hospital and has admitted that last night’s injury scared him.
The Czech international suffered a head injury after clashing heads with his Palermo opposite number Roberto Guana last night.
Scans revealed that there was no serious damage, but Nedved was kept in Santa Sofia Hospital in Palermo overnight.
“I’m fine and certainly a lot better than yesterday,” the former Lazio man told Sky Sport Italia.
“Now I am relaxed and everyone has been very nice here. I am also happy that Guana was also fine after coming off worse from the collision.
“I was a little scared when we clashed heads. It happened to me three years ago and it isn’t good for it to happen again.”
Juve’s faint Scudetto hopes realistically died with the 3-2 defeat at the Stadio Renzo Barbera – a result that hurt Nedved.
“It’s a shame we didn’t manage to complete the comeback,” he moaned.
“They tell me that an ex-Juve player scored the decisive goal – that’s how it goes. Palermo did play well.”
Nedved will board a flight for Turin within the next few hours and is hoping to return to training tomorrow.
