Ranieri: «It was important to repeat Genoa»

Two evening games in a week against Genoa and Napoli (Juve's main rivals last season), six vital points to chase the top European tournament. At the Ferraris, a great first half had been enough, whereas to beat Napoli the team needed to display all their heart, never giving up, and then the great Iaquinta goal at the end.

At the end of the game, in an interview with Juventus Channel, Claudio Ranieri declared he was pleased about the three points: «It was important to repeat the win at Genoa. It was tough, but we knew it was going to be, as we were facing a team who defend well, it's difficult to find a way through against them. We always had possession of the ball but, especially in the first half, we were too slow passing it around. In the second half, after the substitutions, we played on the wings more, with a lot of crosses, and from one of these Iaquinta scored, really a sublime goal for the way it came about. The three-man defence idea? I had it earlier this week, considering the players I had available and to avoid finding ourselves outnumbered in midfield where they had five men».
