Juventus marksman David Trezeguet has urged the Old Lady to raid Argentina for young talent.

The French international keeps a close eye on the Argentine game as it is his father’s country and he lived there until he was 17.

As Juve look to strengthen their squad for a Scudetto push next term, Trez insists that the Old Lady should keep an eye on the Primera División.

“Pablo Piatti is a phenomenon like Diego Valeri, Agustin Pelletieri and Diego Buonanotte,” he told Tuttosport.

“They are all players of the highest calibre and my friends talk about them a lot.”

Despite his short stature, Piatti is impressing at Estudiantes and at just 18 is one of South America’s most talented midfielders for the future.

River Plate sensation Buonanotte is also diminutive, but is winning plaudits for his ability as a playmaker and is from a similar mould to Sebastian Giovinco.

“Enough with this talk of them being too little,” Trezeguet insisted. “Over the last few years Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero have set world football alight.

Valeri and Pelletieri are teammates at Lanus – who won their first ever title when they sealed the 2007 Apertura – and have proved to be a devastating midfield partnership.

“Argentina is a production line of champions and the next batch are already being crafted,” Trez concluded.

Juve are believed to have scouts active in Argentina compiling a report to present at their summer transfer meeting.
