Juve plot Camo extension

Juventus are considering offering winger Mauro Camoranesi an extra year on his contract with the Old Lady.

Having shrugged off the injury problems that dogged the start of his campaign, the Argentine-born star has hit top form.

Camo scored against Inter last weekend and was one of Italy’s best players against Spain in last night’s friendly.

His current deal expires in 2010, but Juve sporting director Alessio Secco believes an extra year will be added.

“Last year we extended his contract until 2010, but if he continues to play like this then we will have no problems with stretching it to 2011 in a few months,” he declared.

“We are very happy with him and what he continues to give to Juventus. With our champions who are over 30 we intend to discuss their position on a season-by-season basis.

“Of course we will always take their willingness to stay into account and their desire to continue on a project they started.”

Camoranesi has made over 150 appearances for the Bianconeri and the 31-year-old seems to have a long future in Turin still ahead of him.
