Chiellini: Three is the magic number

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini was delighted with the way Claudio Ranieri’s three-man defence held up yesterday.
The Old Lady squeezed past Napoli 1-0 in Turin and the back line of Chiellini, Guglielmo Stendardo and Zdenek Grygera proved impressively resilient.
“It was a tough game because they defender well and it wasn’t easy to find a way through,” Chiellini stressed.
“We did well at the back and I made the only mistake, in the first half. It was a new formation, but we were well prepared – we don’t improvise anything.”
Stendardo, who arrived on loan from Lazio in the January transfer window, was also satisfied with the Bianconeri’s showing.
“We were well positioned and at the end the side’s determination won through,” he enthused. “The crucial thing was getting the victory.
“The three-man defence can be altered, but that will to win won’t change.”
