Marchisio: «I’m going through a great moment»

He has just seen the end of a very special year for him for many reasons (wedding and the return to Juventus), but Claudio Marchisio wants 2009 to be even richer in satisfaction.

Just about to turn 23 (on Monday), the midfielder is gaining appreciation match after match. A number of great performances – especially the one against Milan – have made him even more popular.

While waiting to live intense months ahead and trying to contribute to the successes of the team, Marchisio is enjoying two important tokens of appreciation. The prestigious English newspaper “Times” has included him in the list of “Football's top 50 rising stars” moreover in the top ten of a table which also includes his friend Sebastian Giovinco. He was in fact the first out of the youngsters that play in the Italian league preceeding the likes of Hamsik, Lavezzi and Balotelli.

Even the Juventus supporters have awarded him by voting him as the best player for the month of December on JuventusMember.

Two tokens of appreciation which can only make him happy: «I am very happy with the way things are going – he confirms exclusively to Juventus.com – I am living a great moment and these awards are the confirmation that I am doing well but most of all serve as a further stimulus to continue improving».

After having misses the Wednesday match in the Coppa Italia, Marchisio will be once again available for the away match against Lazio. The Roma Olimpico, besides being the stadium which is to host the Champions League final, also bears a particular memory for Claudio. «In 2006 Capello called me up for the away match in the capital even though I watched it from the stands. A very difficult match awaits us. Lazio is a very dangerous team especially when it comes to the attack where it boasts the likes of Pandev and Zarate who are in top form».

Delio Rossi’s team will be the last that the bianconeri will play against in the first round. On Sunday night, with the match at the Olimpico the first round will come to an end and Marchisio and friends want to end it as best they can. «A very difficult period is about tos start since we are about to meet Lazio, Fiorentina and Udinese but we want to continue doing well whilst hoping for some good news from the other matches. On Sunday Inter will be playing in Bergamo, a stadium where we won but where it is never easy. We msut be ready to take advantage of any good occasion in order to catch up in the table».
