Poulsen Wants Juventus, Not Portsmouth

Christian Poulsen has played down speculation linking him with a January move to Portsmouth.

The Danish international has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Lassana Diarra at Fratton Park, but he is keen to stay in Turin and fight for a place in the Bianconero midfield.

The 28-year-old ball-winner has experienced a difficult opening season in Italy, with injuries and poor form hampering his progress following a summer transfer from Sevilla.

He is now returning to full fitness once more and admits his sole intention is to force his way back into the first-team reckoning at Juve.

Poulsen revealed, “I am on my way back from injury and I am trying hard to find a way back into the Juventus team. I am completely focused on getting enough playing time here and I hope the manager is aware of my progress. I want to get back in action as soon as possible.”

Despite Poulsen's commitment to the Turin giants, reports in England suggest Pompey chairman Peter Storrie travelled to Italy on Monday in an effort to negotiate a deal for the midfielder, but these words from the Danish player will certainly make any potential deal more difficult to find.
