Alex explains Juve heroics

Alessandro Del Piero reveals that the chance to face Inter spurred Juventus on to a dramatic win over Empoli in last night’s Coppa Italia clash.
The Bianconeri beat their Tuscan opponents 5-3 in a remarkable game to secure a 6-5 aggregate victory and a place in the quarter-finals.
Del Piero came on as a substitute in the 65th minute and played a crucial role as he converted the spot-kick that won the tie with 11 minutes remaining.
“We wanted it a lot. I came on late, but my teammates worked hard for the rest of the game,” Alex told La7.
“It was an incredible game, but we wanted to get through so much.”
Juve have now set up a Derby d’Italia against Inter, unless the Nerazzurri lose a 4-1 first-leg lead to Reggina at San Siro tomorrow night.
“Getting to face Inter was a great incentive for everyone, including the lads on the bench,” Del Piero admitted.
“Now, we need to stay focused and concentrated. In the first half here we made too many errors and we must learn how to remedy them as we have on other occasions in the championship this year
