Transfer Talk : Ranieri Tells Secco To Sign Van Der Vaart

Ranieri Tells Secco To Sign Van Der Vaart

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has told director of sport Alessio Secco that Rafael Van der Vaart is the club’s primary summer transfer target.

It is common knowledge that the Bianconeri see the centre of midfield as the area which needs to be strengthened in order to launch a realistic bid for the Scudetto.

This week Ranieri held transfer talks with Secco over summer targets and these discussions were chiefly about Van der Vaart, according to Tuttosport.

The Tinkerman has identified the Dutchman as his number one transfer target and sees him as the man to add some much-needed creativity in the middle-of-the-park.

Van der Vaart is certain to leave his club side Hamburg in the summer and he has admitted publicly that he would welcome a move to Juventus.

“I can already see myself playing for Juventus,” he told German newspaper ‘Bild’ a couple of weeks ago.

“I know that Juve are interested in me and have been after me since the summer. They are one of the most important clubs in the world, they have prestige and are very intriguing.”
