Transfer Talks : Amauri

Amauri Race Heats Up

Palermo striker Amauri is the centre of an increasingly intense three-way tug of war between Milan, Juventus and Barcelona.

There are plenty of rumours circulating around the Peninsula regarding the rising star from Brazil, who has been in electric form for much of this season.

While some papers are claiming that Milan already have an agreement in place with his agent, Mariano Grimaldi, others insist that Juventus are in pole position due to their close ties to Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini. Barcelona, in the meanwhile, are allegedly preprated to put the most cash on the table, with a whopping £20m offer in the summer being touted.

Juve have been linked with an audacious double swoop, which would include Rossanero captain Andrea Barzagli in exchange for Sergio Almiron, Domenico Criscito, Marco Marchionni, Raffaele Palladino and a bundle of cash.

Esteemed football agent Vincenzo Morabito recently confirmed the Bianconeri’s interest in the 27-year-old shooting star.

“Juventus are already preparing a David Trezeguet-Amauri pairing for June,” he revealed. “He is wanted as he already knows how the Italian championship works.”

Amauri, who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool, is also set to gain EU citizenship in the next couple of months, which makes him an even more attractive proposition to teams on the market for a top class striker.
