Van Der Vaart Move To Juve Still On – Report

Juventus will resume negotiations next month to try to sign Hamburg star Rafael van der Vaart, according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri have been strongly linked with a move for the Dutchman for a few months now, however there had been reports that their interest had cooled.

Juve boss Claudio Ranieri recently claimed that he doubted van der Vaart would be arriving because he would clash with young starlet Sebastian Giovinco, who is due to return to Turin from his loan spell at Empoli at the end of the campaign.

However Tuttosport claims that Juve representatives will fly to Germany next month in a renewed attempt to try and broker a deal for van der Vaart.

The Bianconeri are prepared to offer between €10-12m, which is some €8m short of Hamburg’s valuation of the playmaker.

However the fact that the 24-year-old has a clause in his contract that allows him to be sold for just €1m from the summer of 2009, it is highly likely that Hamburg will be forced to lower their asking price.

Juve are well-known to be in the market for a top-class centre midfielder following the disastrous performances of last summer’s signings Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron.
