Udinese veteran Antonio Chimenti and Fiorentina’s Vlada Avramov are the two latest names in the frame to play understudy to Gigi Buffon at Juventus.

Juve have completed their major summer signings, but they are still considering bringing in another goalkeeper to provide cover for Azzurri star Buffon.

Current reserve Emanuele Belardi hasn’t impressed between the posts for the Bianconeri over the last year and his days in Turin could be numbered.

Recent links with Finnish international Antti Niemi and Siena’s Austrian No 1 Alex Manninger have faded, leaving new options to be explored.

According to Fiorentina.it, the Old Lady are considering an exchange deal that would see unsettled midfielder Sergio Almiron spend the season in Florence and Serbian shot-stopper Avramov on the Juve bench.

But La Gazzetta dello Sport has a different idea and believes that 38-year-old custodian Chimenti is more likely to get the call from last season’s third-placed side.

The deal would be an exchange as Belardi would relocate to Udine and Chimenti would return to the club he represented between 2002 and 2005 – albeit making just 11 appearances.
