Sissoko: Poulsen & I Can Play Together

Sissoko: Poulsen & I Can Play Together

Momo Sissoko is confident that he and new signing Christian Poulsen can co-exist at the heart of the Juventus midfield.

The Bianconeri have completed a deal to sign the Danish international, but the transfer has not gone down at all well with the club’s supporters, who have lashed out at the board for buying “another rubbish player”.

One of the main complaints among fans is that Juve are in need of a creative centre midfielder, and there is the feeling that Sissoko and Poulsen are too defensive, and indeed too similar to play together.

"We have different characteristics,” Sissoko insisted to La Gazzetta Sportiva.

“I think with some work we can integrate well, it's not a case of doubling up.”

Sissoko also commented on his current injury situation, and he says that he will be ready to return to action soon.

"I should start playing again soon, but the doctors have told me I have to take it one step at a time,” said the 23-year-old, who joined Juve from Liverpool in January.

"I don't think there will be problems. I'll say again, I'm fine, but if it's possible, I'll speed up my recovery.”

Sissoko suffered a muscle strain while playing for Mali during their recent 2010 World Cup qualifiers in June.
