Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are trying to tie down Azzurrini starlet Sebastian Giovinco with a long-term contract offer.

The diminutive playmaker is widely seen as one of the most exciting talents in Italian football and could be a crucial foundation in Juve’s future.

After impressing on loan at Empoli last season, the 21-year-old has been called back to Turin and is ready to wear the Bianconeri’s shirt.

According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady are scared of losing Giovinco as his current contract has him earning a modest wage.

Juve are reportedly ready to put a five-year deal on the table that will see Giovinco’s wages increase by around £400,000 per year until 2013.

The pocket playmaker has stressed his desire to become the heir to Alessandro Del Piero and is expected to commit his future to the club.
