Secco Lines Up Another Defensive Midfielder

According to Tuttosport, Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco is lining up yet another defensive midfielder in the form of Villarreal’s Marcos Senna.

The Bianconeri have all but completed the signing of Sevilla’s holding midfielder Christian Poulsen, a purchase which has angered Juve fans, who held up a banner at the summer training camp in Pinzolo, which read: “Ridiculous, you’ve signed another rubbish player: Poulsen.”

The majority of supporters feel that the club are in desperate need of a creative centre midfielder, and they have grown increasingly frustrated at the constant pursuit of defensive schemers such as Poulsen.

Tuttosport claims that Alessio Secco is now lining up a bid for yet another anchor man, in the form of Villarreal’s Marco Senna.

The 32-year-old was a revelation for Spain at Euro 2008, and Secco believes that his experience and tactical qualities can prove vital in the Champions League and Serie A.

Despite Senna’s undoubted qualities, it seems difficult to see where the veteran could possibly fit in, with so many defensive midfielders already at the club.
