Amauri ready for 'biggest game'

Amauri ready for 'biggest game'

Amauri claims Wednesday evening's game against Chelsea is his most important match in a Juventus shirt so far.

The former Palermo hitman has made an impressive start to life with the Bianconeri.

And Amauri is hoping to make his mark on the Champions League stage when Juve travel to Chelsea.

“The team with the most determination and will to win tend to prevail in the Champions League,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

“The Champions League is like playing in another League. You can be doing really badly at home and yet do superbly in Europe - they are completely separate.

“It's incredible for me to be here at this stage in my career. A year ago I used to watch Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba on TV, now I am playing against them.”

Amauri concluded by discussing comparisons with Chelsea's Ivorian hitman Drogba.

“For me it is a great honour to be compared to somebody as good as Drogba,” he grinned.

“This is the biggest game I have played since arriving at Juventus and I am just thinking about the team getting a result.”
