Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri: I Really Like Antonio Cassano

Cassano could be on his way to Turin as the Juventus coach shows his penchant for the hitman...

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has been singing songs of praise about Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano, leading to claims 'Il Talentino' will join Juventus in the summer.

The 'Doria hitman has failed to replicate last season's form, but he has been decisive on a number of occasions for his side this term. Juventus have been linked with the temperamental striker in the past, but they never taken their interest any further.

Ranieri has now opened the door to Cassano and Tuttosport claims Samp would be willing to sell if the price was right.

"I really like Cassano," Ranieri told the Turin-base publication.

"Has he achieved less than was his talented allows? I think you need the right opportunities at the right levels.

"Antonio has excellent qualities and I think he seems reborn in Genoa."

The Bianconeri are trying to move for Werder Bremen ace Diego as well as Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery. However, Ranieri thinks that it will be difficult to capture either of the Germany-based stars.

"Cassano is a great player, like Ribery and Diego. The Frenchman is outstanding, but I think Real Madrid are after him too," added the coach.

Juve are trying to find a replacement for Pavel Nedved and, with Ribery seemingly unsettled in Germany, Ranieri could be ready to pounce.
