Poulsen Hails His Goal For Juventus

Juventus midfielder and goal scorer in today’s Serie A encounter at Catania, Christian Poulsen has stated the importance of his goal for himself and for the team.

Juventus snatched three points from Sicilian club Catania in a 2-1 win with a last minute goal from midfielder Christian Poulsen deciding the match.

The Bianconeri went ahead in the first half courtesy of a header from Vincenzo Iaquinta, but the striker was sent off two minutes later, leaving Juve to play the best part of the match with just 10 men.

Catania then equalised with a goal from Takayuki Morimoto, but Juventus would have the last word, with Poulsen scoring one minute into injury time to give them a crucial win, which allows them to keep the pressure on runaway league leaders Inter.

After the game, Poulsen told Sky, “This is a very important goal, for me and for the team. We have won a fundamental game. Yesterday Inter won and Milan drew, for this reason it was a necessary win.

“It was a difficult game, also due to the fact that Iaquinta was sent off. But we played the way a team like Juventus needs to play and we had a good game.

"Three months and a half out injured was difficult, but now I am at a good level physically and we shall see what the future holds.”
