Juventus' Sissoko Thinks Amauri Must Choose With His Heart

Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko talked about the team's current form, the title race, and team-mate Amauri.

Despite joining Juventus just over a year ago, Mohamed Sissoko has already become a fan favorite. With his tireless work rate and determination in the middle of the pitch, he is a symbol of the club's mentality.

Today the Malian midfielder talked to Sky about the team's difficult moment and the objectives they want to reach.

"Let's hope we win the match against Catania [this weekend]," he said. "It will be a very difficult match, but I don't think we can talk about a crisis, it's just a moment in which the team is struggling, but that's football. We have to get back into the rhythm we had before Christmas, let's hope we can do something good."

On the penalty he missed in the shoot-out at the end of last night's Coppa Italia tie against Napoli, Sissoko said: "I was convinced I would score, but I missed, however we still won the match in the end and I'm very happy. I always want to make sure I work hard and play with determination, because then everyone is happy about me. After my experiences in Liverpool and Valencia, I want to be important also at Juventus."

On the Scudetto race: "For now we mustn't think about the Scudetto, but take it every game at a time, and then see what happens."

The 24-year-old also talked about his decision to play for Mali instead of France: "I chose Mali because my heart is there, I took this decision for my family, and for myself, and I'm very happy about that."

On the situation of his team-mate Amauri, he said: "It's a difficult choice, because Brazil and Italy are both great teams. He has to choose, for his own good, and listen to his family too. He has to choose with his heart."

Juventus trail Serie A leaders Inter by seven points, following successive defeats against Udinese and Cagliari.
