Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has rued a missed opportunity against Bordeaux after his side threw away a 1-0 lead.

The Bianconeri looked shaky from the start of the game and were lucky not to go into the break a goal down. Things improved in the second half as Iaquinta gave his side the lead after latching onto Fabio Cannavaro's pass to bury the ball home.

However, Jaroslav Plasil equalised 12 minutes later, and the game ended on level terms.

The Italian is not impressed as his side wanted to leave their mark on this fixture.

"I am happy with the goal, but it's a shame about the result," Iaquinta told Sky Sport Italia upon the final whistle.

"We didn't mark their man and he scored. It's a shame as we wanted to start well in the Champions League. We will take the draw and we have to keep our heads high and think about Livorno this weekend."

Iaquinta knows that things are different in Europe as he underlines the importance of staying focused in the Champions League

"This is the Champions League and you can see the difference with Serie A. We knew they would be tough. They are the French champions and teams in this competition punish you if you give them a chance," concluded the striker.
