Juventus Planning For Life After Nedved
With Pavel Nedved set to retire at the completion of the season, Juve have commenced planning for life after the Czech star.
Pavel Nedved joined Juventus from Serie A rivals Lazio in the summer of 2001, following a five year stint in the Italian capital. His transfer cost the Bianconeri €41 million, and he was signed as a direct replacement for Zinedine Zidane who left Turin for Real Madrid.
He has gone on to make well over 200 appearances for the Old Lady, as well as score 47 times, whilst definitely making his mark on the competition along the way.
He is a phenomenal talent who is nearing the end of his illustrious career, and as a result, his club have commenced planning for life after his retirement from the game.
One man who the club have been lining up for quite some time is Diego of Werder Bremen, however his playing style may not be ideal to fit in the Juventus 4-4-2 formation.
With Ranieri admitting that he is not willing to change his well-established formation for the sake of a new player, the club are reportedly considering other avenues to ensure that all are content when the club acquire a replacement for the Czech star.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, officials of the Bianconeri are set for talks with the Bundesliga player and his agent to discuss the future in the coming days, however in addition to this, the Italian club have several others on their radar, with the names and details of such players yet to be released.
The Old Lady are also looking for some defensive reinforcements at some stage this year, with the likes of Mattioni from Gremio and the twenty-year-old Lorenzo De Silvestri from Lazio their main priorities at this stage.
