Nedved: Inter Beware, Juventus Won’t Give Up
'Czech Fury' believes the Scudetto race will go down to the wire and has assured Inter Milan that Juventus will not go down without a fight.
After Sunday's round of matches, the gap between Inter Milan and Juventus has been reduced to just three points, as the Beneamata were shocked by Atalanta and the Bianconeri earned a precious point away to Lazio.
“I did not watch Inter’s defeat, I was sleeping,” Pavel Nedved told Tuttosport.
“Anyway, we must stay calm, there is still a long way to go; the title will not be decided until the last day of the season.”
Lazio took the lead through Cristian Ledesma but the Bianconeri quickly levelled the scores with an Olof Mellberg header. Nedved feels that the result could have been better as he felt his side should have been awarded a penalty in the first half.
“I was stupid. A Lazio defender tripped me inside the penalty box, but I stayed up because I felt I was closer to the ball. That was a clear-cut foul.”
Meanwhile, Tuttosport also claims that the 36-year-old midfield dynamo has made up his mind and will further extend his career by signing a pay-for-play deal with Juve.
