Ivanovic To Juve Rumours Intensify

The speculation that Chelsea outcast Branislav Ivanovic is set for a summer transfer to Juventus continues to intensify, with The Daily Star claiming that the Serbian will move to the Bianconeri on loan this coming season.

Around a year ago Ivanovic was one of the most sought-after defenders in the whole of Europe following some hugely impressive performances for Serbia in the Under-21 European Championships in Holland.

The stopper attracted interest from the likes of Juventus, Inter, Milan, and Manchester United, but it was Chelsea who eventually won the race to sign him, paying Lokomotiv Moscow €13m in January of this year.

However, since arriving at Stamford Bridge, things have not gone well at all, and indeed Ivanovic has yet to make his first team debut, only turning out for the reserve side.

Over the past week or so, rumours have been intensifying that Ivanovic, who is admired by Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri, is set for a move to Turin.

The Daily Star has now further added fuel to the fire by claiming that Ivanovic is not in the plans of new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, and is available on the transfer market for €15m.

Juve are not prepared to pay such a sum of money, however they are confident that they will be able to take the player on loan next season.

The Bianconeri have already signed two central defenders this pre-season in the form of Aston Villa’s Olof Mellberg, and Livorno’s Dario Knezevic.
